Christ’s death on the cross was not only a past event; it initiated an ongoing judgment that shapes the believer’s daily walk. Hebrews 12:1-15 urges us to run our race, lay aside every weight, embrace God’s loving discipline, and pursue holiness. Because Satan, the world system, our sins, and the old nature were judged at Calvary, we now cooperate with the Holy Spirit through self-judgment—choosing to “take up the cross,” “put off the old man,” and live crucified with Christ.
