What Spiritual Change Results From The Working Of Repentance In Our Lives?
As we allow God to change us in our emotions, mind, and will, by consciously cooperating with Him, He changes our spiritual condition and makes us literal “new creatures.”
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new “(II Cor. 5:17).
Repentance is our response to God; regeneration is God’s response to us.
It is a change from death to life as the Holy Spirit quickens us.
“And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins “(Eph. 2:1).
It is a change from the kingdom of darkness to God’s kingdom of light.
“Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Col. 1:13,14).
It is a change from alienation to acceptance.
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ” (Eph. 2:12, 13).
