“And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:” Joel 2:28

As we take a look at this subject, it is imperative that we know and understand that God would like to reveal information to us about Himself, things to come and what He has been to us in many ways. What God said to the Prophet Joel, it was centered on what He desired to say to us regarding a time in the future.

God was revealing to us, that the time would come when there would be a greater measure of God opening up a fragment of his mind regarding his communication system; Dreams Visions Trances Impressions—the word of the Lord coming to us and our hearing his voice much clearer. God has a desire to speak to His People.

Since Genesis, God has always desired to speak to you and me as His people. Think about how God communed with Adam and the Woman, by that time they were in fellowship with each other and entered this place where they were also communing with God. There came a time when they were walking through the garden in the cool of the day and had sinned by disobeying God’s directives. Then God, walking through the garden, revealed Himself, “Adam, where are you” calling Adam and the Woman.

When we think of the Revelations of Lord, we have to think of relations of: Relationship with God; Intimacy with God; and Time Alone with God. Much of the Body of Christ never have this alone time with God because they have entered this period of time of being just too busy. There are those times when God has to pull us away because we are overly busy.

Busyness is a great hindrance when you are attempting to hear God and receive revelation from the presence of the Lord. In the book of John, Jesus was at a point where His soul was “troubled” and at that time He desired God to speak. Let’s look at the importance of relationship with God verses those that have no relationship with God.

In verse 27 Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour. 28 Father, glorify thy name. Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again. 29 The people therefore, that stood by, and heard it, said that it thundered: others said, An angel spake to him. 30 Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. John 12:27-32

Notice, Jesus heard God speak, but those that were around him did not have a relationship with God thought it thundered or thought an angel spoke to Jesus. What do you think when God speaks? Do you hear him, or is it difficult to do so?
