The Sovereignty of God

So many preachers down through the years have spoken of the subject, the sovereignty of God and positioned God as one that could do whatever he wanted. They also indicated that he does whatever he wanted regardless of what we think.
While in prayer, God said to me, “I have never been able to do whatever I wanted. I have positioned myself to be bound by my word.”
His word on healing binds God to do it when we function according to its instructions. Mark 16:18 ”they shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover”; First Peter 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.” Sometimes there’s a process or miracle.
God is bound by his word, relative Finances. “Give and shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over shall men give”…Luke 6:38. That word binds God to do what he said!
Salvation – Romans 10:9-10 “if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in thine heart thou shalt be saved.”
When God declared his word, he became bound by that word spoken; God can’t change his mind about healing you, saving you, nor blessing you when you have kept the requirements to receive that blessing. Each one of those blessings has conditions attached, and it is not difficult to get off course. God spoke in Malachi 3:6 “For I am the Lord, I change not”…
The word “Sovereign” means “One who has supreme power or authority, sovereign authority; royal. Having supreme rank, power, preeminent; indisputable: greatest in degree; utmost or extreme; being above all others in character, importance, excellence, etc.”
At which point we have to understand God’s word to you is undisputable, undeniable, and unchanging. You can count on God doing what he said explicitly. If you hold on to God’s word, he will bring to pass what that word expressed. Just consider Abram who became Abraham.
Genesis 17:1 (KJV) And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
Perfect comes from the Hebrew word (Tamim) and Is A High Call Unless The Almighty Makes The Call. It means Complete, without blemish, or faultless. The word “Tamim” is not a figure of speech; it means to be perfect. I am pretty sure you have heard come across the pulpit, “nobody’s perfect.” “you won’t be perfect until you get to heaven.” None of those statements are consistent with scripture. He who knows all things, said to Abram, “I am the Almighty God, walk before me and be perfect.”

Because the thinking of the church has been “genetically altered” we have been sold some things that are not consistent with the word–as mentioned before. The just God we serve said to Abram, “be perfect,” but not before introducing himself as “The Almighty God.” Let’s look at the definition of Almighty.
The word Almighty, according to The Complete Biblical Library, comes from the word “Shaddai, the Almighty, i
s found in the OT almost fifty times. The most popular etymology suggested is that it may be related to Akkadian shadu(m), “mountain,” “mountain range,” referring to the Lord as unshakable.
Shadday seems to come from a root shdd, meaning “to be powerful.” Some speculate that the term is a combination of “shin” plusday (HED #1823), meaning “the One Who is sufficient. The word is used in contexts which promote the power and sufficiency of the Lord. It is used concerning the patriarchs to undergird and affirm the Lord’s ability to keep his promises to increase their descendants and give them the Promised Land (cf. Gen. 17:1-8; 28:3; 35:11).
God preserved the promised seed by preserving Benjamin (43:14), as Jacob prayed to Him. Either way, this name assures God’s people that his promises will be kept.’ Shaddai overpowered the Mesopotamian seer Balaam who tried to curse Israel (Num. 24:4, 16).
He was able to bring devastation as his name indicated (Isa. 13:6; Joel 1:15), and by his power, He scattered Israel’s enemies (Ps. 68:14; cf. Ezek. 1:24; 10:5).
Yet his power was available to those who would seek shelter in his shadow (Ps. 91:1f).”
When you understand the power that is behind the title Almighty, you can be confident that God will uphold his word he made to you.
